Your Principal’s Summer Message

4 images with male principal and students

As the school year comes to a close, I want to thank our IMS students and families for being part of such a vibrant and supportive school community. Middle school is a time of growth, exploration, and discovery, and it is our privilege to partner with families during these important years.

If you are considering enrolling your student, we invite you to join our high-performing school within Collier County Public Schools, an A-rated district recognized for its commitment to student achievement. Click here to enroll.  The first day of school is Tuesday, August 11, 2026.  Our school day begins at 8:50 a.m. and dismissal is at 3:40 p.m.

To our returning families, thank you for your continued trust. We are looking forward to welcoming students back to campus. As you prepare for the months ahead, we encourage students to stay engaged by reading regularly and exploring the 2026 Summer CCPS Classics Reading List.

One of the major benefits of enrollment in our school is the wide variety of courses we offer – click here to download and explore available courses and programs.

Please note the following important dates and information as we prepare for the upcoming school year:

  • Summer School will begin on June 8th at Immokalee Middle School for eligible students.
  • Class schedules will be issued on the first day of school, Tuesday, August 11th.
  • We look forward to welcoming our newest IMS students at our 6th Grade & New Student Orientation on Monday, August 10th at 4:30 p.m. in the Cafeteria.

As we close another successful school year, I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations and sincere thanks to each of you for your dedication, hard work, and unwavering support.

This year has been filled with outstanding academic achievements, and I am especially proud to share that our students made significant gains in all state assessments. This remarkable progress reflects the commitment of our talented faculty and staff, the determination of our students, and the strong partnership we share with our parents and community.

Together, we have continued to build a culture of excellence, resilience, and pride here at Immokalee Middle School. Thank you for your continuous support in helping our students succeed both inside and outside the classroom.

Wishing everyone a safe, restful, and well-deserved summer. I look forward to another great year ahead!

Warm regards,
Mr. Jose L. Hernandez
Principal, Immokalee Middle School
